We invest in musicians today, to inspire the music of tomorrow.

About Us

People for DJs was formed in 2020 to provide low-income students with the equipment and training they need to learn DJing.

The price of a DJ studio is $2,000-$10,000, a lot of money for most families. But our flagship Spin@Home program loans equipment rent-free for a year and gives free virtual training.

We also connect aspiring DJs to mentors, opportunities and key influencers.

Plus, we refurbish and sell donated equipment at very low prices.

Thus, we pull down barriers between aspiring DJs and their dreams. We do all this with people’s direct support, as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. We’re most thankful to our great donors, volunteers, brand ambassadors, sponsors, and DJ partners.

Our Vision: We invest in musicians today, to inspire the music of tomorrow.

Our Mission:

People for DJ’s mission is to enrich the lives of existing and aspiring DJs and musicians by providing them with resources to pursue their creative, artistic and entrepreneurial paths.

There are many talented minds who have a passion to pursue a musical path, however many lack the resources to do so. Our intent is to enable aspiring musicians to follow their dreams and truly explore their musical potential.

Our North Star:

To create a community that helps DJs get together to support each other, strengthen each other professionally, and develop the next generation of DJs.

Our system thrives on successful DJs donating their time, knowledge, and old equipment to the next generation. Who’ll, in time, give back to their successors. With this virtuous cycle, we will enrich and grow the music community as a whole.

Our Values: 5 fundamental values shape our decisions

  1. Artistry: Cultivation of creative skills and abilities.

  2. Community: A group of likeminded people working together to further advance opportunities for aspiring DJs and musicians.

  3. Diversity: Embracing the uniqueness and specialness of each person and all musical genres that make our community.

  4. Passion: Enthusiasm and love of music.

  5. Responsibility: A moral duty to respect our community, partners, patrons, and resources that enable us to create our music.
